Ampere’s LGA4926 platform features an unusual socket design with a cover that is higher than the contact surface of the CPU, which means that the contact surface of the heatsink must fit into the cut-out of the socket cover. The base of Noctua’s AMP-4926 series coolers have been customised precisely for this purpose, ensuring an exact fit to maximise thermal transfer.
Thanks to its compact footprint (95x95mm with centre fan only, second fan can be installed on either side depending on available space) and a total height of only 134mm, the NH-D9 AMP-4926 4U provides excellent compatibility and is small enough to fit most 4U size rack-mount enclosures.
The NH-D9’s direction of airflow is parallel to the long axis of the LGA4926 socket, so it is ideal for systems where the exhaust fans of the chassis are in this direction. For systems that require the airflow to go perpendicular to the long axis of the socket, please choose the NH-U14S AMP-4926.
The NH-D9 AMP-4926 4U is equipped with two of Noctua’s award-winning NF-A9 PWM 92mm fans in their high-speed 2500rpm HS-PWM variant. This push/pull dual fan configuration makes it possible to achieve a level of cooling performance that is remarkable for such a compact cooler.
The renowned NF-A9 HS-PWM premium fans supplied with the NH-D9 AMP-4926 4U support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the motherboard, which allows them to run near silent at lighter loads and speed up only when necessary. The supplied splitter cable makes it possible to power and control both fans simultaneously from a single motherboard fan header.
Noctua’s AMP-4926 coolers feature a dedicated SecuFirm2™ mounting system for LGA4926. Installation is just as easy as with TR5-SP6 or TR4-SP3 models: Put on the heatsink, fix the four spring-loaded Allen key screws using the supplied tool and you’re done!
