One more time, we are delighted with Noctua products. All three of them are top-quality and are highly recommended for specific usage. By specific, I mean if you want to build a small PC with a CPU at lower TDP, then the NH-L9i-17xx is perfect. If you’re going to build a larger PC with a stronger CPU and you have more space in the PC case, then better take a look at other Noctua coolers that may meet your needs better.Funky Kit has already awarded the NH-L9i series coolers, so it’s not a surprise that also the LGA1700 version gathers our good comments. Both tested coolers perform about the same, so it depends on the user if the classic version or the black one matches the PC more. There is no better performing cooler of this size on the market. Also, the price is maybe not low but quite reasonable for all we get. Both coolers perform great considering the size and work quietly up to recommended TDP. Like all Noctua coolers, also the NH-L9i-17xx line comes with a 6-year warranty. The NA-FD1 fan duct kit is very simple to install and should fit every small case. It’s also inexpensive, so in an easy way, we can improve the performance of our cooling. I’ve seen Noctua documents where the fan duct kit improves the temperature by about 5°C. In our tests, we could go up to 6-7°C, depending on the CPU load. It’s a lot considering how simple the solution is.
