Which cooler is compatible with my LGA1366 motherboard?
There are two types of motherboard layouts under the LGA1366 standard, that come with different cooler installation options and compatibility with our coolers.
LGA1366 motherboards with screw threads (e.g. Xeon 5500)
Some LGA1366 motherboards have a backplate with screw threads for CPU cooler installation, such as the Intel reference backplate for Xeon 5500. The following coolers are compatible with these motherboards:
Additionally, the following coolers can be made compatible by requesting extra mounting parts through our technical support:
LGA1366 motherboards without screw threads (e.g. Xeon 3500, Core i7)
On the other hand, LGA1366 motherboards without a backplate that has screw threads for the CPU cooler installation, such as Xeon 3500 and Core i7 motherboards, can be used with a larger range of coolers. All coolers that list LGA1366 compatibility can be installed out of the box, additionally many of our coolers can be made compatible by requesting additional mounting parts. Coolers that can be made compatible are displayed in the mounting kit order form when selecting LGA1366, and you can also request the needed mounting parts via this form.
